Animal Crossing Island Tour

I think we can all agree that Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out at just the right time. As the UK and the rest of the world went into lockdown, Animal Crossing sales rocketed to over 13 million worldwide, making it one of  the best selling Switch games since the console's release. I've even heard of people struggling to buy themselves a Nintendo Switch during the pandemic, probably because everyone who didn't already own the console is buying it to play Animal Crossing. Luckily I did already own the console and pre-ordered the game well in advance and I'm so glad that I did as it's served as my main source of entertainment during these boring and uncertain times.

Playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons for around 200 hours has meant that I've had a lot of time to achieve a 5 star rating for my island. I think it's worth mentioning that I did this legitimately and didn't time travel or cheat in any way. I wanted to play the game the way that it was intended to be played, especially because it's my first proper experience with an Animal Crossing title. I dabbled with New Leaf on the 3DS for a couple of hours a few years ago but never really got the hang of it.

The design of my island has been largely inspired by the villagers who live there. When you look around my island you'll notice how I've tried to decorate each of the villagers' gardens and outdoor spaces to reflect their character and personality. The brilliant thing about Animal Crossing is that things can evolve and change pretty quickly. The game incentivises you to regularly change the layout of your island or to add more to an existing design. I will probably swap and change a few of my villagers along the way too, so what you're seeing now, might be completely different in a few months time. This is one of the things I love most about visiting my friends' islands, they're different every time I visit and there's always something new to see or a new incredibly cute character to meet.

My 5 star Animal Crossing island tour is presented by my boyfriend Rob (Pixel Pursuit on YouTube) as I show him around. I thought it would be more interesting to do it like this rather than only giving you the tour in picture form. So without further ado come and join us as I show my boyfriend around my 5 star Animal Crossing island.

As you can probably tell I absolutely adore this game and I'm very grateful that it came out when it did. It's super cute, adorably charming and so easy and simple to pick up and play. I know I'll be spending even more of my time continuing to make my island even better. There is still quite a long list of things I want to do, such as, buying and crafting more items for my villagers' gardens as well as obtaining more colour variants of the flowers and filling in the Critterpedia.

I hope you enjoyed looking around my island. Let me know what you think in the comments below and tell me who your favourite villagers are. Punchy and Beau are top tier islanders in my opinion. Thanks for watching and reading!
